My One and Only, Skin Food Candy Moist Rouge Lipstick, 602 (Angz's review)

These days I am quite absorbed in eyeing (a bit drooling also..pardon me) about Skin Food's product..why? Because they are so very sweetly packed, nicely scented, and most are working well on me.

Now I would like to share my experience with Skin Food's Candy Moist Rouge lipstick. Yes it is moist, yes it is glossy as it is rouge and smells like candy. I got myself number 602, I can describe it as orange peachy in color. The texture is creamy and for me, the color is strong enough I need to put lip concealer under it to make it softer.

My suggestion is, you may wear  lip color when your lips is in good condition (not chapped / dry), if needed be, you need to scuff your lips first. Well, I will only use lipstick when my lippie is in very smooth condition, other than that, the lipstick will not be able to make me pretty, it will make my look worse.. (you know how lipsticks tends to color the cracks more than any other area). I prefer transparent lip balm / gloss when I need to go out and my lippie are not in maximum condition.
This is my picture with the Skin Food's Candy Moist Rouge. I put lip concealer under it and a sheen of additional lip gloss.

The staying power is satisfying enough, I never have any need to do lips touch up with this lipstick. But of course, each girl has different activities and conditions.

Conclusion: I am happy enough with this lip color.

Please feel free to share your experience too..

Oriflame Very Me Click It Liquid Eyeliner (Blue & Brown) (Angz's review)

I am always so thrilled to see eyeliners. I've been eyeing these line of liners for quite long time, since their first appearance in Oriflame's catalog. I did not grab them at the first chance coz I felt kind of skeptic about Oriflame's liners after my failure with their Stylo Liquid Eyeliner, Giordani Gold Lacquer Liner and Giordani Gold Cream  Eyeliner.

Then I saw someone on TV wore metallic blue liner and hey...it looks nice and I immediately remembered about this Very Me Eyeliner, it has a very nice metallic blue in my opinion. I called my consultant friend and gave her my order.

I bought myself a pair of Very Me Eyeliner, in blue and brown plus the connector. Actually you can buy one color and without the connector, since they are sold separately. Just it will look 'incomplete'. So I decided to get a pair instead of blue only.

This product has thin brush applicator I am very familiar with, so I have no difficulties of applying it. Shown below are the color swatches.
The blue looks quite faint there, due to the light reflective glitter. I can say it is a very nice metallic blue, the brown is so close to black and is not metallic at all.

When I washed my hand with only water, my skeptical mind hit me again, they were gone completely only with 3 rubs and plain water. Then ok, I ran a test, I put them on my eyelids without any primer, on bare skin.
I put the blue on my upper lids, and the brown on my lower lids (waterline).

Then I did my home activity as usual.

After about 8 hours, I checked my liners again and, I was so relieved, they stayed put, only a bit smudged, but still very acceptable.

Then I tried to wash them off with only water and face wash, they were removed perfectly.

I am always happy with products those can stay long and easy to remove. The Very Me line of products target teenagers, so I can say these liners are nice choices for youngsters who like catchy colors, with affordable price and easy removal.
But I doubt this liner will stay when you involve sweaty activity, it will be safer to wear them indoors like a leisure stroll in a mall. And of course, this one is not waterproof.

I love this product! How about you? Feel free to contact me if you want to share or ask some questions..

My 3-Step Weekly Ritual: The Face Shop Black Head EX Smoothing Cleansing Oil, The Body Shop Vitamin C Microdermabrasion, Skin Food Peppermint Pore Diet Mask Peel Off

Well, that is kinda long title...
Anyway, this time I want to share to you about my effort to maintain my facial skin. Many females spend extra time and budget for that, and so do I...sigh..

For my weekly routine, as you can see in the title, I use 3 products from 3 different brands (what can you expect from a beauty blogger? Of course most of us are skin care maniacs).

1st STEP: THE FACE SHOP'S BLACK HEAD EX SMOOTHING MASSAGE OIL

As someone who has a strawberry nose and naturally bumpy facial skin, of course I need something to help me extracting the black heads. Recklessly squeezing my nose only scored me even worse condition of enlarged pores and even more strawberry nose look (red and bumpy..what else?). Then I tried to browse for another ways to cleanse my skin, I came across a post about massage oil specifically made to help us removing the black heads. This kind of product is meant to soften the blackies so it will be easier to remove later.

My choice fell to this Black Head Ex Smoothing Massage Oil by The Face Shop. The only brand I know to have such product. The oil is packed in a 30 ml glass bottle with a dropper. Inside you can spot tiny black granules. The texture of the oil is quite thick, not as runny as baby oil for example, it is more gel-like. The smell also pretty nice although I cannot really define what kind of aroma is that.

I applied the oil on my well cleansed face, paid special attention to my T-zone, where most of my black heads resided. I massage it in circular motion for about 3-5 minutes (during the massage, you may see that some of the blackies are extracted) , then I let it stay on my skin for about 1 minute before washed it away with water / warm water.

By then, we can move to the next step...

2nd STEP: THE BODYSHOP'S VITAMIN C MICRODERMABRASION
Here comes my favourite...
I've been using this microdermabrasion cream for about 1 year and a half, and it stays as my favorite peeling cream as well as my favorite TBS product aside of their perfumes. I've used this product alone for my weekly ritual for quite long time before I made it a 3-step like now.

This one helps me a great deal to remove dead skin cell and get rid of the dull looking skin. I love the scent also, zesty orange scent, very refreshing. The texture is creamy with scrubs on it.

To use this product is pretty simple, just like any other peeling products, you need to massage it on your WET or at least DAMP skin, I cannot recommend it to be used on a completely dry skin (I've tried before and well..it was unpleasant). Massage it for about 5 minutes before rinsing it off completely. I can always feel my skin is a way smoother and softer after the peeling. It simply works for me. Usually I wash my face with face wash, SK II, after the peeling. Then you can dry your face to move to the next step...

STEP 2.5: UNRECOMMENDED SQUEEZE
I have this behavior of squeezing my strawberry nose, it always gives me a certain pleasure to see the blackies pops out and away...huhuhu...but of course dears, this is not so recommended action.

3rd STEP: SKIN FOOD'S PEPPERMINT PORE DIET MASK PEEL OFF

Now we come to the final step, mask, to prevent pores enlargement, and for me, also to make my pores behave better than before (I am trying to reduce their size).

As to fulfill the purpose, I got myself this Skin Food Peppermint mask with Pore Diet as its middle name. This one is a peel off mask.
Packed in a tube with 120 ml volume. This mask looks and scents like a..toothpaste.
Well, a tad bit runnier than the actual toothpaste I must say.
I can say that I quite like this mask. I like the soothing minty tingling feeling too. I need to apply it thick enough, if it is too thin then it will be a trouble to peel it later. Needs about 10-15 minutes to make it completely dried and peel - able.
oho..that's me!

When you peel it off, sometimes there will be some layers that are quite stubborn to be removed, some people try to scratch them off. One tip from me, you can rub them off by the aid of your face cream / moisturizer. I suggest to use moisturizer after you are done with the mask so your skin will not feel tight. Just use your regular moisturizer, depends on the time (day or night).

By the end of this treatment, I could see my skin very well cleansed, 80% of blackies are gone.

One more important thing, since these steps involve peeling / skin-exfoliating product, they are not recommended for readers with sensitive skin. And result may vary depends on the skin type and condition of each individual.

Thanks for reading and don't hesitate to share your experiences too!

Olay Total Effects Day Cream SPF 15, Normal (Angz's review)

I am a 26 years old gal, I am over 25, I feel the need to use anti-aging cream.

Let me give you my brief history with this cream, I did try this one when I was 24 / 25, it was the previous generation of this cream and the result was not that satisfying, it broke me out on the 3rd day. So I left it and changed to the non-anti aging products.

But now, I am older, and I saw that my skin condition had slightly changed, a bit dryer. Then I decided to give Olay one more chance and I should say I do not regret it this time.

For your information, my skin type is normal / combination, kind of prone to black heads, pale (due to lack of sun exposure as I am an indoor gal). And I am an asian.

By the time i wrote this review, I'd been using the cream for about 3 weeks. The result is quite nice, my skin is suppler and brighter, the cream does not break me out anymore, non-comedogenic also (at least for me). Altough you can read something like 'non oily' on the box, do not expect this cream to give you matte look, instead it will make you look a bit shiny (I can say it is dewy), you will need to put powder to make it matte. This cream is also good enough to prime your make up.

Here is my face with only Olay on...

The only set back about this cream is, it contains paraben still.

So my suggestion is, please try this cream if you feel your skin is 'old / mature' enough...

PS: the result may vary depends on the skin type and condition of each person.

UPDATE (21/7/2012)...

I am still using Olay Total Effects as my day cream,  so far  I am pretty happy with this cream as it doesn't break me out and helps to keep my skin nicely hydrated and fresh looking.
Now I am combining this cream with L'oreal Youth Code Pre Essence instead of Hada Labo Shiryojyun Lotion (I have no problem with Hada Labo, it is nice for me, I changed coz I want to test the Pre Essence).

L'oreal Curl Impact Collagene Mascara (Angz's review)

Here I am, having too much free time, so why not I do some informative blabbering?
Ok..directly into the review, I would like to tell you my experience with one of L'oreal mascaras, Curl Impact Collagene.

My main reason to buy this mascara was: it is smudge free, and...EASY TO REMOVE.
I've been so sad with my Majolica Majorca Lash Enamel Glamour Volume On, while it delivers good enough volumizing, it is a hell to remove.

For L'oreal Curl Impact Collagene, I can say that I am pretty happy with this product. It gives nice volume to my lashes, very smudge free (I did try to wear it with no other make up on, with my face naturally oily, and the mascara still hold, didn't smudge or flaked at all), then it is indeed easy to remove. On the box, you can read WARM WATER REMOVAL. Well, I've never tried the real warm water, but I usually remove my entire make up with cleansing oil (Hada Labo), and it could be removed perfectly. (UPDATED: I tried to remove the mascara with water / warm water, it COULD BE REMOVED EASILY...very good).

There are some snaps of my eyes with the mascara (you can see how shiny my eye area is).

All in all, I give this product a thumb up, it's volumized enough, easy enough to use, easy to remove, no smudge, no flakes, clumps a bit, kinda hard to curl with heat curler, a bit sticky at the first 1 hour of application.

A nice mascara for everyday use. Before this one I used Maybelline Long Extreme Stiletto mascara (will put the review too) but I will still prefer Collagene due to the easy removal. I might repurchase this product again in the future...but who knows...hehehehe.
If you have experiences with this mascara, please feel free to share...
